What a Ball!

We are having a BALL in Pre-K 3!!  Thank you for sending in a ball last week.  We have a great collection going and the students are really enjoying our unit.  It has been fun sorting our ball collection by size.  During center time we got to roll the balls through a tunnel towards a friend and catch the ball when it came back to us.  In art, we painted with marbles in a box.  Balls are fun to play with, but they can also help us do different things!

It was a special treat to have Mrs. Krista's husband, Kevin Dempsey, come teach us about soccer on Friday!  He is one of the LSU ladies' soccer coaches!  First we had to listen to instructions....

He wanted us to put the ball on our head...

Stop the ball with our feet,

stop the ball with our chin and our elbow,

our back side,

 and our head!

Then we all got to kick the soccer ball into the goal!

Thank you Coach Kevin!  We had a ball when you visited us!  Please come back soon!!

Discovering Our Senses

Over the past two weeks we have been discovering our 5 senses.  During center time we have painted with lemon scented paint, made and explored texture clippies, finger painted, played with sensory bags, guessed what's inside Mrs. McRae's feely bag, listened to stories on the Ipad, and played with animal sound puzzles.  There has been a lot going on in Pre-K 3!  It's been so much fun exploring our senses.  We hope you enjoy our pictures!!

We loved listening to Marshall read his Tangled book!                      Way to go Marshall!

                                                  Our birthday girl, Allison!

On Friday for snack we popped popcorn with Mrs. Dore's    class and used all of our senses!

It's "All About Me" in Pre-K 3!

Welcome to our class blog! I am so excited to get to share pictures and class memories with you through this blog.  It will be a way that you can connect with your child and the things we are doing at school! I plan on updating it weekly.

We have had a wonderful start to our new year together.  It has been fun to watch as the children have made new friends and become acquainted with our classroom routine.  Everyone has done a beautiful job and is working nicely together.  There has been a lot of sharing, playing with friends, and taking turns.

Thank you for sending in the family flags!  They are all so cute and it has been fun to watch as the children proudly share their work.  In art, we made "Look Like Me" paper dolls that are decorating our walls.  We have enjoyed reading books about our senses and doing some fun "sensory" projects.  Everyone loved getting to play the Ipad animal sound game!  It was a big hit!  We have also enjoyed painting with lemon scented paint, having a taste test, and using all 5 of our senses to bake chocolate chip cookies.  In fact, we are going to continue our 5 senses unit this week and get to have more fun exploring the way we learn through senses.

Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks!  Hope you enjoy!! :)
