Run, Run As Fast As You Can....

You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!  It was a lot of fun reading different versions of The Gingerbread Man story last week.  We also got to hear the story of The Gingerbread Girl, who was the gingerbread boy's sister.  Even though her brother wasn't so lucky, she out-smarted the fox and tied him up with a piece of licorice from her hair!  We thought it was so funny that she said "Run, run with a leap and a twirl, you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread girl!"
We decorated gingerbread men cookies on Friday and after we read our book, our gingerbread men cookies had run away!  We went on a hunt around the school, and finally found them back in our room, safe and sound, with our gingerbread house!  And boy, were they good to eat!  :)

Mrs. Krista loved the birthday cards we made her and her birthday cookie cake!

We want to thank Tiana's mom for coming to the class last Friday and reading us a story on her Ipad!

If you weren't able to come to Trinity School Sunday this morning, we'd love for you to stop by our book fair this week in the school library.  There are many great books and gifts for you to check out , just in time for Christmas!!

We Are Thankful For Grandparents!

What a wonderful morning we had with our grandparents and grand-friends on Grandparents's Day 2011!   The children were so excited to share our classroom with their families.  They enjoyed singing songs, sharing art projects, and telling them a little bit about our day here in Pre-K 3 at Trinity.  These pictures really capture the joy that these little ones felt to have their grandparents and grand-friends spend the morning with them!  Thank you for coming to our special day!

November News

We have been very busy over the last month in Pre-K 3!  Fall is moving along quickly and there has been a lot going on.  After our Halloween fun, we started a Creative Curriculum unit on boxes.  We collected many boxes, big and small, and the children loved exploring them.  Food boxes were brought in from home, for our grocery store center in drama.  The students enjoyed playing cashier with their friends.  Bigger boxes were in our block center for the students to play with.  They loved climbing into them, stacking them, and seeing what could fit inside.  At circle time each day, we would guess what was inside the mystery box.  The children had to ask "yes" and "no" questions to try and get clues to figure out what was inside.  This was tricky at first, but they soon learned the types of questions that would help narrow down the guesses!  It was a lot of fun! We've also been learning about the first Thanksgiving and how the pilgrims and Indians worked together and became friends.  It's been fun playing in the teepee and Mayflower! Come along and see what we've been up to......

Mrs. McRae's daughter, Annie, got to come visit us on her fall break!  She loved getting to finally meet all of our friends!

Forester said, "Look Mrs. McRae....that's how old I am!"
