Nursery Rhyme Time!!!!! :)

Wow!!! What a great time we had last week on Nursery Rhyme Day!  The boys and girls looked darling dressed as their favorite nursery rhyme characters.  We performed at morning meeting and sang and recited some of our favorite rhymes we had learned.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our nursery rhyme unit.  Back in the classroom, we had fun playing in some nursery rhyme centers and acting out our rhymes in front of the class.  It was a great day!!!

Ramps, Wheels, and One More Birthday!

Here are a few more pictures from our wheels unit in February.  The students brought in toys with wheels and we tested them on ramps to make sure they could roll.  We also had races to see if heavier vehicles went faster or if vehicles with more wheels went faster.  In our drama center we had an ice cream truck.  The children loved playing "ice cream man" and dishing out ice cream to their friends.  We investigated things that were round and sorted shapes on a sorting board.  And we ended the month of February with one last birthday!!  Happy birthday Pearce!! :)

Pearce's mom and aunt brought yummy cupcakes for our class!
Thanks for sharing! Happy Birthday Pearce!!

Let's Roll

Last Friday, we wrapped up our "Wheels" unit by having a riding day at school!  The students brought their favorite riding toy from home and we spent our morning recess riding around our closed off parking lot.  Boy was it fun!!!  Although it was a very chilly day, we warmed up quickly with all that riding!  In fact, most of our friends had to sit down for a little break along the way!
For snack that morning we made a bus out of a graham cracker and 2 oreos.  The children loved that!!
Hope you enjoy some pictures from our fun day.  :)

Thomas, Evan, Edward, and Carter even wore wheels on their shirts to celebrate the big day!
