We had such a fun time Friday at the art show.  Thank you for coming out to see our masterpieces.  If you weren't able to make it on Friday, the artwork will be displayed for the next couple of weeks.  Please come by any time.  Pictures from the art show are coming soon!!!

Our Class Quilt

Our Pre-K 3 class quilt is the cutest thing I've ever seen!  We used the childrens' handprints to represent a theme or unit we have discussed this year.  As you can see, it turned out precious!  Our quilt is hanging in the activities building if you'd like to get a better look at it.  The raffle tickets are on sale this week and the drawing will be at 2:30 on Friday.  Please come out and join the fun!

All About Art

We are enjoying a week full of art!  With the Trinity art show coming up next Friday, April 27th, we wanted to incorporate art lessons with the students.  We started off by painting our handprints on a picnic table (thank you to Jackson's parents). It will be up for bids at the gala this Saturday!  I hope everyone will be able to attend.  It is sure to be a fun night.   

We learned about block prints by painting the bottom of a muffin tin and flipping it over on paper to create a beautiful image.  We have also learned about vertical and horizontal lines.  Wrapping a rubber band around a small block created the perfect stamp.  The children dipped it into paint and then made a vertical and horizontal line print.  Then they noticed that there are vertical lines in the rainbow fabric at our windows and horizontal lines are made by the blinds underneath.  Boy are they smart!!!

 Here is Boyd making a symmetrical butterfly painting.  The kids had a lot of fun dropping dots of paint onto one wing of the butterfly, folding it in half, and then revealing their beautiful creation!

Our art show is Friday, April 27th at 8:45am.  You are invited to stop by our Pre-K wing and see all of our wonderful masterpieces.  Also be sure to swing by the activities building between now and then to view our precious class quilt.  Raffle tickets are on sale now and I'm sure you'll want to take our's home!!  A picture of our quilt is coming soon! 

Let's Get Rolling

     We loved our wheels unit!  It was so much fun to learn about how wheels work.  Some wheels help us get places and other wheels help us move things around.  We enjoyed many fun centers during this unit.  Making shape vehicles, tracing letters with wagon wheel pasta, having a car wash in the room, and creating an edible bus at snack time were some of our favorites!  

     It was great to have our "Fun with Wheels" day last Friday to end our unit.  Each child brought a riding toy from home and we rode around the school parking lot that morning.  Some of our riding toys had 2 wheels, some had 3, and some had 4.  Take a look at all of the fun we had!
