An Apple a Day!

We had a great time learning about apples last week!  On Thursday, the boys and girls each brought their favorite type of apple to school.  We had fun sorting them into color groups.  We held our apples and stood on colored rugs that were the same colors as our apples.  The red apples had the largest group!  Then we colored a paper apple and graphed the different ones.  After that, we got to eat our apples for snack!  Boy, were they juicy and tasty!  Packard ate so much of his apple, that we got to see what an apple core looks like!

Our Tree Study

Here are some pictures from our tree study.  We are learning about the pretty colors that leaves can turn in the fall.  Our discovery center has a box full of "treasures" that our friends are bringing in from nature hikes at home.  We went on a nature hike today and came back to the room to sort the different things we found from trees.  Learning about trees is a lot of fun!

Snowballs, Ball Racing, and Shooting Hoops!

I realized that I had some more cute "ball" pictures to share. We made paper mache snowballs and the kids LOVED getting messy with glue!  They painted them and made them look like a real, icy cold treat!  This was a really fun project.

Boy was it fun having a "snowball" fight in the activities building with our teachers and friends!

Yum, Yum, these snowballs are tasty!

Ball races in the hall!  The marble always won!

Shooting hoops at recess was lots of fun!
