Our Second Week Together

Thank you for coming to our Curriculum Night last Tuesday.  We had a great attendance and it was so nice to visit with you.  Some of our family flags trickled in on Monday and they are wonderful.  If you haven't already done so, please help your child decorate his or her flag.  Each flag will be shared with the class and should teach us a little about your child. :) We will be posting these on a bulletin board and then making a class book to share with our families.
We are learning the importance of having our names written around the room.  We read The Three Little Kittens and decided they lost their mittens because they must not have had their names on them. When we see our names on our blue bags, our classroom hooks, our lunch boxes, etc., we know that those things belong to us! After weeks of name games and morning routines, your child should be able to recognize their name before long!
I wanted to share some pictures of our popcorn party with our 5th grade big buddies last Friday.  We had 4 absent, so our class was small, but we enjoyed time to visit and get acquainted.
Our second full week together has been shortened because of Hurricane Isaac.  I know we had several families leaving to go out of town and I hope everyone is safe and stays protected from the storm. God bless you all.
