A Typical Day in Pre K!

September has been such a fun month!  Our class has been playing  nicely together and getting along.  We are building friendships and having so much fun as we go.  Here are some pictures from our last two weeks.......

Reed always enjoys working puzzles.

The students loved playing with the puppet theater last week.  When they chose the drama center, they took turns being in the audience and being behind the curtain.  It was so fun to see all of the characters they created!

Edward having fun on the block carpet.

Even though our birthday girl, Catherine, has been sick
this week, her friends have been making her cakes and
counting out her candles!!  We hope you feel better
Catherine!!

We all pulled up a chair to one table and followed a recipe to make homemade play dough.  Each child got a couple of turns to measure, stir, and knead the play dough.  Then the students had fun stamping their first initial and age with our play dough stamps.

Our other birthday girl, Diya!

I have started meeting with the students in small groups.  This is a time when I pull 5-7 students aside and introduce a new manipulative or skill.  This week we played with unifix cubes.  We made simple patterns and even measured that Curious George was 19 cubes tall!  In this picture, Thomas was showing Evan and Margaret how to build a skyscraper!

Kennan told me that she made a pentagon in science lab!

Sloan has been practicing her cutting skills in the sensory table.

Thomas and Charlotte were hiding objects for each other in the feely box.

This week, we have been studying about our 5 senses.  Each day the students have answered a question about their senses.
It was fun to paint with strawberry smelling paint. We have also enjoyed going on a listening walk, playing memory, looking through view finders, and discovering water in our sensory table!

We were surprised to see Chuck E Cheese in our room after nap time yesterday!

Diya had fun slicing her pizza in the restaurant center.

Thanks for coming to visit our blog!  We sure have lots of fun in Pre K 3!!!
